Pjila’si – Welcome to the Sister Dorothy Moore L’nu Resource Centre (LRC)

The Sister Dorothy Moore L’nu Resource Centre, part of the Unama’ki College family at Cape Breton University, is a repository of documents, resources, and a dedicated space for Indigenous research for use by:

  • Cape Breton University Students, Faculty, and other researchers
  • Mi’kmaw schools and educational institutions
  • Mi’kmaw social and cultural organizations
  • Mi’kmaw justice organizations
  • Everyone interested in Mi’kmaw and Indigenous issues

The Sister Dorothy Moore L’nu Resource Centre collects material on Mi’kmaw and Indigenous history, language, and culture. If you would like to contribute documents, or have material we might use, please contact us.  We also welcome email inquiries on our holdings.

Hours of Operation and Contact Information

The LRC is open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. located within Cape Breton University’s Student, Culture, & Heritage Centre off the Great Hall. Our entrance is inside the Beaton Institute round the corner from the Art Gallery.  The LRC is wheelchair accessible; parking is available for $1.00 daily rate.
