Nursing Practice Educator

The Department of Nursing in the School of Education and Health at CBU invites applications for the position of Nursing Practice Educator. This is a full-time continuing position.

The Nursing Practice Educator (NPE) is a valued position within the Department of Nursing. NPEs work closely with nursing students taking a leading role in nursing practice education, supervision, and evaluation of nursing students in acute care, long term care, and/or community agencies, as well as on-campus nursing laboratory instruction and evaluation.

The successful candidate will:

  • have or be eligible for an active practicing license with the NSCN prior to the commencement of the position;
  • hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing or other health related discipline; and
  • have at least five years of nursing experience to teach, supervise, and evaluate students in nursing practice.

If there are no applicants possessing a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a health related discipline, those currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program will be considered.

Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous peoples and, African Nova Scotians or those with African Canadian descent.

CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
