The Department of Library and Cultural Resources at Cape Breton University invites applications for a full-time continuing position as a Librarian Collections and Resource Management at the rank of Librarian. This position will commence on September 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter).
Reporting to the University Librarian, Library Services, the successful candidate is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of the Cape Breton University Library resources in support of the University’s mission for teaching and learning, research and creative endeavours, as well as student success and achievement.
The successful candidate is also responsible for serving as the primary contact for consortial license purchasing and partnerships; preparing recommendations on purchases for the University Librarian; negotiating library database licenses directly with vendors for trials, new products, and renewals; configuring and troubleshooting the acquisitions, serials, e-resource, and discovery functions within the integrated library system (ILS); resolving access issues; and providing information literacy instruction as needed.
