Cape Breton Newcomer Primary Care Clinic

Nova Scotia Health and Cape Breton University have partnered to create the Cape Breton Newcomer Primary Care Clinic for newcomers in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM), by referral only. The clinic provides timely access to safe and culturally sensitive care for those without a permanent primary care provider (physician or nurse practitioner). The clinic is located within the Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling.

Who This Clinic Serves

This clinic is for residents of all ages who are:

  • New to Canada within the last five years
  • Living in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality
  • Without a primary care provider

To book an appointment, a referral is required from the following partners:

To obtain a referral, please reach out directly to the above-listed community partners. Once the clinic receives the referral, patients will be contacted with an appointment time.

Note: Newcomers who are CBU students and employees will continue to book appointments with Cape Breton University’s Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre.

Monday: Open every other Monday. Please call 902-563-1464 to confirm before coming in.
Tuesday-Wednesday: 8:30am-4:30pm
Thursday: 8:30am-7:30pm
Friday:8:30am-4:30pm
