About the Role:

We are seeking a full-time Production Planner & Scheduler to join our Production team.

 

Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Technician, the Production Planner & Scheduler is responsible for the master scheduling of customer orders, as well as the management of work performed by outside secondary suppliers. This position plays an integral part in achieving the sales, delivery, and inventory goals of the company. The Production Planner & Scheduler proactively manages material risks and potential disruptions, and coordinates mitigation plans with relevant teams to maintain efficient operations and prevent production delays.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with Production, Logistics, and Sales to develop and maintain a master schedule that establishes the sequence and lead time required, by product, to meet shipping dates.
  • Establish production plans and priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Identify, assist, and resolve issues concerning production scheduling and shipping, while managing communications for disruptions.
  • Provide support to operations processes.
  • Prepare lists of required materials and identify lead times.
  • Create purchase orders, as required.
  • Collect and research data such as inventory levels, production resources, etc.
  • Work in collaboration with Purchasing and Accounting as it relates to transactions, general ledgers, cost studies, price, etc.
  • Participate in cycle counts and investigate variances and their root cause.
  • Manage vendors by following up on material deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Technical and Non-Technical Skills:

  • Self-starting and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and adept at efficiently managing tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to present numeric data effectively.
  • Familiarization with ERP software package (Microsoft GP preferred).

 

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
