Empowering Learners through Mi’kmaw Wisdom and Tradition

This certificate provides learners with a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge rooted in Netukilimk— a Mi’kmaw concept encompassing the use of the natural bounty provided by the Creator for self-support and well-being. The curriculum is land-based and Elder-linked, guided by the four core principles of respect, responsibility, reciprocity, and relationship. Students will engage in collaborative learning, interacting not only with each other but also through the Knowledge Keepers’ video series, mini-cases, and supplementary materials. The program aligns with the goals and objectives of Mi’kmaw Cultural Tourism, contributing to the broader objectives of Reconciliation. It aims to foster respect and understanding of Mi’kmaw culture while building capacity for Mi’kmaw Tourism, representing the Seven Districts of Mi’kma’ki.
