CBU to Host President’s Leadership Dinner and Induct CAPERS Hall of Fame Members

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, Cape Breton University will host the 2nd Annual President’s Leadership Dinner. Each year, this gala dinner highlights leadership expertise by welcoming nationally recognized experts from a broad spectrum of fields. The 2019 leader is Mr.Guy Lafleur, one of professional hockey’s most talented and awarded players.

President & Vice-Chancellor, David C. Dingwall will take the stage with Guy Lafleur during the gala dinner to provide the audience with an engaging and thought-provoking interview on leadership in the National Hockey League, both on and off the ice.

As well, The 2019 inductees into the CAPERS Hall of Fame will be announced. The CAPERS Hall of Fame, established in 2018, will serve to recognize individuals and teams who exemplify what it means to be a CAPER and who have excelled during their time as a CBU student-athlete. The Hall of Fame will also recognize supporters, who are making an impact in the world of sport, and who are helping build the athletics program at CBU.

This year’s inductees are the 2007 CAPERS Women’s Canadian Interuniversity Sport National Championship team.

Tickets for the President’s Leadership Gala Dinner are $120 and are on sale now. All funds raised support student-athletes through scholarships and bursaries.
