CBU Introduces The President’s Medallion of Excellence to Celebrate Lifelong Contributions of Faculty and Staff

Cape Breton University (CBU) is proud to announce the creation of The President’s Medallion of Excellence, one of the institution’s highest honours, established to recognize retired faculty and staff whose exceptional contributions have helped shape the University and advance its mission, reputation and vitality.

The President’s Medallion of Excellence will celebrate individuals whose leadership, service, innovation and commitment have left a lasting impact on the institution and the broader communities it serves. Through this prestigious honour, CBU will formally recognize retired employees whose contributions have gone above and beyond the expectations of their roles and whose legacies continue to influence the University’s success.

“The history and success of Cape Breton University have been shaped by extraordinary individuals whose vision, dedication and commitment helped build the institution we know today,” says David C. Dingwall, President and Vice-Chancellor of Cape Breton University. “The President’s Medallion of Excellence provides an opportunity to formally recognize those retired faculty and staff whose contributions have had a profound and lasting impact on our University, our students and our communities. It is important that we celebrate these remarkable individuals, preserve their legacies and inspire future generations through their example.”

Eligible nominees will include retired faculty and staff who have demonstrated exemplary dedication to Cape Breton University and whose achievements have significantly contributed to the institution’s growth, excellence and community impact.

The establishment of The President’s Medallion of Excellence reflects CBU’s commitment to honouring excellence and recognizing those whose work has strengthened the University’s academic environment, enriched the student experience, fostered meaningful community relationships and enhanced CBU’s reputation provincially, nationally and internationally.

Recipients of The President’s Medallion of Excellence will exemplify the values of leadership, service and dedication that continue to define the institution and its ongoing growth.
