Cape Breton University’s Boardmore Theatre Announces Auditions for 52nd Season of Plays

CAPE BRETON, NS – Cape Breton University’s Boardmore Theatre invites students, employees, alumni and community members to audition for the 2023/24 season of plays. Audition times are scheduled for Saturday, September 16, from 10:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday, September 17, from 1:00-5:00pm. 

 

Presented annually, the season includes a combination of short and full-length plays, a bi-annual Shakespeare production and a bi-annual Broadway musical. With an exciting schedule ahead, Boardmore Theatre Director, Todd Hiscock, is eager to see what the auditions bring. 

 

“For more than 50 years, the Boardmore Theatre has been proud to be a safe and welcoming space for our community to learn and practice theatre production. We invite anyone who is interested in being involved in our 52nd Season of Plays to register for an audition this year,” says Todd Hiscock. “If you are interested in acting, directing, stage managing or technical theatre, we have a space for you. We eagerly anticipate the auditions and the opportunity to assemble a talented and diverse cast and crew for this year’s line-up of four full length plays and ten one-act plays.”

The Boardmore Theatre, a central hub for the performing arts at Cape Breton University since its inception in 1979, is proud to present a diverse and engaging lineup for its upcoming season. The season includes productions such as Photograph 51, Yellowface, Murder in the Cathedral, the One-Act Play Festival and the Youth Festival, each offering a unique theatrical experience exploring various themes and styles.

 

The Boardmore Theatre welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and experiences to take part in this exciting opportunity. Auditions for the 52nd Season of Plays will take place at the Boardmore Theatre, located at Cape Breton University.
