Great Hall Skylight Replacement

As part of planned infrastructure improvements approved in the 2026–2027 budget, the skylight in the Great Hall is being replaced. This work is necessary to modernize aging infrastructure and ensure the long-term integrity of the space.

To accommodate the project, the flags displayed in the Great Hall have been temporarily taken down. They will be carefully reinstalled once the skylight replacement is complete.

What you need to know:

• The project schedule is weather-dependent but the project expected to be completed in early September
• A safety wall will be constructed in the Great Hall to ensure safe passage to the Welcome Centre, Art Gallery and Centre for Cape Breton Studies. 
• Those using the Campbell Room, should now access it through the back door (closest to the Beaton Institute).
