CBU 2025 – 2030 Strategic Plan

To the CBU Community,

As we launch the renewal of Cape Breton University’s strategic plan, we do so with a strong sense of purpose, optimism, and commitment to the future. Our original plan set a bold direction, one that was built on a shared vision for advancing CBU. Today, as we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to those guiding pillars while embracing new opportunities for strategic growth and innovation.

The pillars that have shaped our journey remain unchanged, serving as the foundation for our continued success. However, the world around us is evolving, and so too must our approach. This renewed plan reflects our focus on the future—on strengthening our impact as a university, expanding our reach, and continuing to provide a quality and outstanding experience for our students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

CBU has always been a place of progress, and we are proud of the momentum we have built together. Even in challenging times, as we move forward, we do so with clarity of purpose and a deep commitment to excellence. Through strategic growth, innovative thinking, and collaboration, we will continue to persevere and to elevate the exceptional work being done here. As we know, moving forward together and strategically will ultimately result in positive change for our campus, our community, and beyond.
