CBU Students’ Union Multicultural Celebration

Join us for the CBU Students’ Union Multicultural Celebration, as part of the CBU’s 50th Anniversary festivities, on March 21 & 22, 2024.

The celebration features a range of diverse activities, including music performances, dance showcases, cultural booths, fashion shows, poetry readings, stage performances, and more. The festival plays a pivotal role as a platform for fostering cultural exchange, appreciation and understanding within the CBU community and the local community.

Multicultural Talent Show – Thursday, March 21 at 6:00pm

International Cuisine Experience

Throughout the week of March 18-22, the CBU Students’ Union and CBU’s food service provider Chartwells are serving authentic dishes from around the world. Meal tickets can be purchased from March 11-22 at the CBU Students’ Union Front Desk or Caper Convenience.

Pricing:

  • Students: $5 per meal.
  • Non-students:
    • $10 per meal or $43.50 for the entire week if purchased between March 11-15.
    • $15 per meal after the presale ends on March 15.

Meals will be available at the cafeteria from 11:00am-2:00pm, at the Underground from 2:00-8:00 pm, and all day at the Meal Hall.

Monday, March 18 – Indigenous North America

Fry Bread Taco (Vegetarian or Chicken), Three-Sisters Chili, Bannock and Corn

Tuesday, March 19 – China

Kung Pow Chicken or Crispy Tofu Stir-Fry with Veggie Fried Rice and Veggie Egg Roll

Wednesday, March 20 – The Philippines

Chicken Adobo or Tofu Sisig with Garlic Rice and Panchit

Thursday, March 21 – India

Tandoori Spiced Butter Chicken with a choice of Dal or Channa Masala Rice and Naan (or both Dal and Channa with Rice and Naan)

Friday, March 22 – Nigeria

Piri Piri Chicken or African Sweet Potato Stew with Jollof Rice

March 21: International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

  • Experience the Multicultural Talent Show from 6:00-9:00pm at the Boardmore Playhouse. Doors open at 5:30pm, show starts at 6:00pm.
  • Wear your traditional outfits and join the fun!

March 22:

  • Enjoy a live DJ mix.
  • Explore diverse cultural booths from 11:00am-2:00pm in The Pit and Upper Cafeteria.
  • Get an event passport for a chance to win exciting prizes.
