Look What I Found: Opening Reception

Join us on Friday, March 14, from 6:30-8:30pm in the CBU Art Gallery for the opening of Look What I Found, by Beto Janz, Stephanie Steele and Nathan Eugene Carson.

The exhibit will run from March 14-June 6, 2025.

About the Exhibition:

Pop culture, graffiti, collage, punk rock and skateboarding collide in this exhibition which celebrates urban aesthetics and the art of the discovered object. Look What I Found! brings together the work of Stephanie Steele, Nathan Eugene Carson and Beto Janz for the first time in an audacious show of explosive colours, forms and textures that is sure to surprise and delight visitors of all ages!

About the Artists:

Stephanie Steele is a sculptor, painter and mixed media artist based in Unama’ki / Cape Breton. Her work celebrates life and embraces pop culture with vibrant colours and a distinct, graphic style. A student of the Toronto School of Art, Stephanie has participated in group and solo exhibitions within Nova Scotia. Her public art commissions can also be viewed in various locations across the province.Nathan Eugene Carson is an artist based in Hamilton, Ontario. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design (2005), Nathan has presented work in multiple solo and group exhibitions at public and private galleries in both Toronto and Hamilton. His practice includes photography, drawing and painting, as well as mixed-media work.

Roberto ‘Beto’ Janz is a Brazilian artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Inspired by rock’n’roll and skateboard movements, my work brings the energy and attitude of these cultures. From carving wood to graphic arts, his mindset is to go for it and DIY. His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in multiple publications. Beto’s graphic designs have received awards in both Brazil and Europe (Istituto Europeo di Design)
