International Student Orientation Sessions

On Friday, August 30, CBU’s International Student Advisors (ISAs) will host four sessions for new international students from 9:00am-5:00pm in the RBC Lecture Theatre on the CBU Campus.

Topics will include:

  • Immigration (study permits, work permits, post-graduate work permits, etc.)
  • Healthcare in Canada
  • Consent and Sexual Violence Awareness
  • Rights and Responsibilities as a Student and Citizen
  • CBU’s Student Code of Conduct

This is an excellent opportunity for new international students to learn more about CBU and life in Cape Breton. The presentations will run for approximately 60 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A period with a panel of current student leaders.

Students will be given a voucher for a free poutine at Chartwells which can be used from Friday, August 30 to Friday, September 6. Other snacks will be available throughout the day. WOW Leaders have also developed a photo scavenger hunt that highlights areas around campus. Campus tours will also be available throughout the day.
