The Future of Hockey Forum: Moving from Ideas to Action includes a luncheon highlighted by the keynote luncheon speaker, Andrew Ference, Director of Youth Strategy at the NHL and a Stanley Cup Champion. His keynote will be followed by a fireside chat with Amrit Gill from Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi.
We also invite you to join us in celebrating Dean Smith. Originally from Whitney Pier, Dean was awarded the NHL’s Willie O’Ree Award in recognition of his positive impact to his community through hockey. Dean is the driving force behind the Black Youth Ice Hockey Initiative in Halifax. This program works to introduce the game of hockey to more young African Nova Scotian players. Dean also serves as chair of Hockey Nova Scotia’s Diversity and Inclusion committee.
