Join the CBU community on Saturday, September 14, from 1:00pm-3:00pm in the CBU Art Gallery for the opening of the Beading Art Exhibit.
The exhibit, known as Kina’masultinej (“Let’s Learn Together”), features the work of four distinct, contemporary Mi’kmaq beaders from Eskasoni and Membertou. Incorporating various materials, including beads, sweetgrass, porcupine quills, wood, glass, shells and ceramics into their work. The artists that will be featured include Dannerri Anne Marie Gould, Rosalee Doucette-MacNeil, Jocelyn Marshall and Neve Stevens. Each of these artists will present their intricate works that highlight traditional techniques and non-traditional subjects that will provide a glimpse into the art of contemporary beading in Una’maki.
