The School of Nursing at Cape Breton University seeks part-time clinical instructors to teach and oversee students in a variety of clinical placement experiences offered within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, including, but not limited to (course lengths may vary*) the following clinical areas: Medical-Surgical Acute Care, Long Term Care, Obstetrics, Mental Health and/or Primary Care.

Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, have a scholarly record of achievement at the BScN level or above and a passion for clinical excellence. Experience in education through clinical teaching or preceptor engagement would be considered an asset.

Clinical supervision occurs throughout Nova Scotia at various facilities and within numerous organizations. Applicants must submit clinical requisites such as a NSCN license and placement requirements (i.e. CPR, criminal records check, occupational health documents such as immunizations) upon hiring.

Part time course instructors work shifts which could include days, evenings, and nights.  Placements are typically 2 to 6 weeks maximum in length and are coordinated with an exemplary group of Nursing Practice Educators, Nursing Practice Integration Professors, Faculty and Program Chairs.

Applicants may submit their request for consideration to nursing@cbu.ca. Please include an updated resume, cover letter, and statement of nursing practice interests and area with your application.
