CBU invites applications for the Mental Health Counsellor, Athletics. This is a part-time continuing position for 17.5 hours a week.

The Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre is currently accepting applications for a Mental Health Counsellor, Athletics is responsible for providing a wide range of direct mental health services to all enrolled students, with a specific interest & experience in providing counseling support to student athletes. The Mental Health Counsellor, Athletics is a newly created position that offers supportive mental health counselling and case management primarily to student athletes at CBU.

The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in and contribute to the development and delivery of mental health and wellbeing programs and services as well as follow the policies and standard operational procedures of the Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre. They will also be expected to work independently within established clinical and ethical guidelines to ensure that mental health issues of student-athletes are assessed with appropriate treatment plans, as well as provide education to student athletes, coaches, and staff.

The successful candidate will develop a wellness plan within an integrated, collaborative stepped care system of mental health support; along with performing other duties that consistent with the mandate of Mental Health and Counselling Services as requested.
