Liaison Librarian I/II

The Department of Library and Cultural Resources at CBU invites applications for a full-time continuing position in as Liaison Librarian (Librarian l/ll). This position will commence in September 2021.

The successful candidate will fulfil liaising duties with the Shannon School of Business including: information literacy instruction, reference services, student outreach, and collections development in support of the University’s mission for teaching and learning, research and creative endeavours, as well as student success and achievement.  This position is continuing full-time with CBUFA affiliation.

Candidates should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or its equivalent as a minimum qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a librarian, experience and/or knowledge of the business sector, or combination.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in areas of library services and literacy in business related programs.
  • Able to provide outreach services in an academic library setting or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provide the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information resource needs and scholarship trends in Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Community Economic Development.
  • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative statistical software packages.
  • Experience in developing and managing collections and budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
