Cape Breton University’s Library and Cultural Resources Department is seeking a full-time continuing IT Technician – Information Systems and Digital Strategies. Reporting to the Dean, Library and Cultural Resources (LCR) and in collaboration with the Information Technology Services Department, the IT Technician – Information Systems and Digital Strategies works with librarians, archivists, curators and technicians to support the department’s on-line and e-resource capacity and initiatives.
With expanding digital offerings and new support services including data repositories, Open Education Resources, digitization, data management, and virtual research support, the incumbent will liaise with IT Services in support of and maintenance for dedicated information systems, on-line/digital strategies, and participate in technology projects, services and operation.

The union affiliation of this position is with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3131. Salary level is Band 6 (provisional).
