Community Collaborator, Communities and Healthy Aging (Cheticamp)

CBU invites applications for the Community Collaborator, Communities And Healthy Aging. This is a part-time limited term position for 15 hours a week at $17.00 an hour, and approximately 6 months with possibility for renewal. This position will be located in Cheticamp. N.S.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies, the successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and Assistant, Communities and Healthy Aging to coordinate all aspects of programming in their community. Fluency in Acadian French and cultural knowledge will be considered an asset.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate & attend bi-weekly programs
  • Ensure program facilitators, venues, and equipment are scheduled in accordance with program plans
  • Be a point of contact for program participants
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Project Assistant to ensure program assessment tools are completed in an organized and timely manner
  • Promote program opportunities within your community in collaboration with local organizations
  • Actively engage and educate community members on the risks of dementia and early intervention opportunities.
