About the Job:

The Cape Breton University School of Nursing is seeking a Student Special Projects Assistant– Social Media to assist in maintaining and enhancing its social media presence. This includes planning, scheduling, and posting content on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. The role also involves providing administrative support for special projects within the School.

Duties:

  • Plan and schedule social media posts for events hosted by the School of Nursing.
  • Create and post content on the School’s social media platforms (e.g., Instagram and Facebook).
  • Support the administration and organization of special projects within the School of Nursing.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies and best practices for online communication in all social media activities.
  • Contribute to public relations and online communication efforts related to the School’s events and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure relevant events, updates, and achievements are represented on social media

Qualifications:

Technical & Digital Skills:

  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok) and content management.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar) for creating visually appealing posts.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics) to track engagement and performance.
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush) for short-form video content.
  • Experience using scheduling tools is an asset.

Communication & Content Creation:

  • Strong writing and editing skills for crafting engaging and professional social media content.
  • Understanding of branding and digital marketing strategies to align content with CBU’s identity and best practices.
  • Ability to create engaging multimedia content (images, graphics, reels, short videos, etc.).

Administrative & Organizational Skills:

  • Excellent time management skills to plan, schedule, and post content consistently.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in messaging and adherence to university policies.

Eligibility

Must be enrolled full time at Cape Breton University and in good academic standing.
