About the Job
The Open Staffroom is a free monthly in-person gathering of educators, the 3rd Saturday morning of each month, September – May, at CBU, from 9-12. The Project Event Assistant will support the project by contributing to both the promotion and coordination of the event.
Primary Responsibilities
- Event promotion to encourage registration and participation.
- Develop a promotion strategy for social media and community-based engagement, create promotional materials, and distribute these materials prior to the event.
- Be present during two events (Oct 17 and Nov 21) to assist with registration, logistics management and overall organization.
Qualifications
- Experience developing strategic event promotion plans (social media, community-based, professional networks)
- Communications skills (tailoring written communications for specific platforms and audiences)
- Interpersonal Skills (responding to online and in-person questions regarding the event; supporting a welcoming and judgement-free space at the events)
- Time management and Organization Skills
Eligibility
Enrolled in full time studies at Cape Breton University and in good academic standing.
