Are you interested in major infrastructure projects, clean energy transformation, and developing your engineering and project management skills in a collaborative environment?

 

As an Engineering (ECEI) Co-op, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the Eastern Clean Energy Initiative (ECEI) Project Controls Team as they help deliver critical clean energy infrastructure projects across Nova Scotia.

 

Working with our team during the Winter 2027 Co-op Term, you’ll contribute to the planning, monitoring, coordination, and delivery of major capital projects while collaborating with project managers, engineers, construction teams, contractors, and project controls professionals. You’ll support project reporting, data analysis, document management, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the successful execution of clean energy projects.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for students who enjoy a mix of engineering, project controls, data analysis, and project coordination. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to large-scale infrastructure development, and build technical, analytical, communication, and project management skills.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Information Management Lead in implementing information management methodologies, templates, and tools across the ECEI Intertie Project – Wasoqonatl Transmission Line.
  • Assist in delivering business processes that support the effective management of electronic and physical project documentation.
  • Support compliance with Information Management Procedures among internal and external project participants.
  • Liaise with internal and external submitters of project documentation to facilitate document review and processing.
  • Generate outgoing transmittals and support documentation requirements, including RFIs, RFPs, correspondence, and quality reports.
  • Maintain document logs, registers, and project databases, ensuring records remain current, accurate, and complete.
  • Review contractor and supplier documentation for compliance with project requirements and support the administration of master document registers, supplier registers, and document distribution matrices.
  • Assist with the administration of Electronic Document Management Systems, including Adept, ACC Forma, and SharePoint.
  • Provide support for additional project-related activities as required.

 

Who you are:

We’re looking for an organized, analytical student who enjoys working with technical information, supporting complex projects, and learning about the delivery of major infrastructure initiatives. You will be a strong candidate if you:

  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, with Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Are ideally in your second, third, or fourth year of study and eligible to complete a co-op work term.
  • Have academic or work experience related to engineering projects, project management, planning, scheduling, construction, or data analysis, which is considered an asset.
  • Are proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Can interpret and work with technical and project-related information.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have experience with project management, scheduling, reporting, or data visualization tools, which is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of records management, document retention, data governance, and revision control.
  • Have an understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction documentation processes, including vendor data and as-built documentation processes.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Have experience using SharePoint Online (SPOL) and Adept, which is considered an asset.
