Overview

We have exciting 8-month Co-op in our corporate office within Human Resources, for individuals who are curious and excited to learn about the retail business. You could be the next generation of leaders inviting tomorrow’s consumers to try our brands.

 

What to expect:

The Human Resources Co-Op student is an opportunity to experience the diverse aspects of a Human Resources environment. You will be working independently and, in a team, to help build, create, coordinate and support our Talent Planning & Development team with various projects and programs.  Reporting to the Manager Early Careers & Talent Planning, you will work closely with the Early Careers team and within other areas of Talent Planning & Development to support efficient execution of each portfolio.

You will:

  • Support communication, planning and execution of internal Early Career student events
  • Attend career fairs and other off-site events to promote student opportunities at Sobeys
  • Assist with the creation of student program assets and resources
  • Support with communication and coordination of CliftonStrengths sessions
  • Support coordination of enterprise-wide executive and development programs
  • Assist with talent & workforce planning, succession, and performance management tools and resources
  • Support the coordination and administration of the retail and backstage leadership development programs across multiple provinces and banners

 

Position requirements include:

  • Currently enrolled in a Business administration, Commerce with a focus in Human Resources
  • Self starter with a proven ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a member of the team
  • Efficiently able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
  • Proficient in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
