We are hiring a Records and Information Co-op Student
Position summary:
The Halifax Port Authority is seeking a Records and Information Co-op Student for a four-month term.
Reporting to the Senior Records and Information Analyst, this position supports the organization’s
Records and Information Management (RIM) program by assisting with digitization, classification,
retention, disposition, and information governance initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Records Organization & Classification
Digitization & Metadata Support
Conduct Quality Control of final records, including verification of image quality and
completeness
Retention & Disposition Activities
Information Governance & Compliance
Administrative & Project Support
Supporting employees and departments in organizing and optimizing digital storage
solutions
What you’ll bring:
Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to information management, law, public
administration, business, or similar fields
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information

Position Term
The term of this position is from May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026.
Compensation
The compensation for this student position will be dependent on the program and year of study. The
minimum rate of this position is $20.50 per hour.
Additional Conditions
• Successful completion and maintenance of a Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Pass (RAP).
