For over 50 years, Ocean View has been dedicated to our mission to provide person-directed care with compassion and grace. We work to enhance the lives of those we serve, ensuring a supportive environment for our 171 residents.

Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Community Relations, provide and/or assist with internal and external communications, support foundation fund development activities, and administrative duties.

Qualifications:
•Enrollment in a relevant, post-secondary program such as; Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Journalism.
•Possess the following characteristics and skills
o strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and empathy
o effective oral and written communication skills
o excellent organizational and planning skills
o digital design
o creative problem-solving and good assessment skills.

•Ability to use social & digital media to effectively communicate or respond to others
•Previous experience with the elderly preferred.
•Knowledgeable in Microsoft products (word, excel, publisher)

Responsibilities:
•Liaise with other departments to assist with content and creation of the staff newsletter
•Support implementation of all internal and external communications/ PR plans
•Monitor and maintain all social media platforms
•Participant in internal staff committees (diversity and morale and engagement)
•Fund development
•Liaise with Volunteen Supervisor for cross promotional activities
•Demonstrate commitment promote a quality culture
•Maintains ethical standards in the scope of job responsibility
•Champions the mission, vision and strategic directions established by Ocean View
•Maintain and promote health and safety standards and procedures according to Ocean View guidelines and resident care standards to a level consistent with recognized provincial standards including ethical guidelines.
•Promote a safe and healthy workplace for staff, volunteers, residents and their families

Salary: $19.00 per hour, 40 hours per week

Hours of Work: The regular hours of work for this position are intended to be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Given the scope and responsibility of the role, there may be a need to flex hours outside this range.
