The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is leading the transformation of the early years and public education system in Nova Scotia. We are doing this by designing an innovative curriculum, facilitating excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring an inclusive education experience, and working closely with our partners in education. As part of the Education, Innovation, Programs and Services Branch, you will work in the Career Pathways Division to provide direction and integrated leadership to the Regional Centres for Education (RCEs) and le Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) regarding the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies, guidelines, programming, and services.
The Provincial Skilled Trades Consultant’s primary responsibility will be supporting Skilled Trades and Trades-Related Learning in Nova Scotia Public Schools. They will work collaboratively with the Career Pathways team, provincial Youth Pathways Consultants, EECD colleagues, and external partners to support the academic achievement and well-being of all students.
The Provincial Skilled Trades Consultant reports directly to the Director of Career Pathways.

As the successful candidate, you will have:
You must have extensive knowledge of the Nova Scotia Skilled Trades curriculum and the importance of trades-related learning. You must have strong decision-making and leadership skills as well as outstanding verbal, written, communication, research and presentation skills. You must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. You must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups, community partners/members and colleagues
Valid driver’s license as travel is required across the province.
Experience in an education leadership role would be an asset.

Pay Grade: PR 20
Salary Range: $3,849.45 – $4,532.40 Bi-Weekly
