Students Returning to the JKC

Welcome back to the Jennifer Keeping Centre for Accessibility! The Jennifer Keeping Centre, or JKC, is here to help you access the accommodations you need based on your documented disability. Students will need to renew their accommodations with the JKC each semester to receive accommodations for their documented disability.

You can meet with an accessibility facilitator to set up your accommodations, or, if you are requesting accommodations you have had in the past, you can renew them online. If you are renewing funded accommodations such as note takers or tutors online, you will be asked to verify you understand you are responsible for the payment for these accommodations within the renewal form.

JKC Renewal Process

To access the renewal form,

  1. Go to Accommodate and log in with your CBU email and password
  2. Go to Accommodations on the left hand side to see the full menu
  3. Click on Semester Registration and fill out the form. You can select accommodations you have had in the past, any new accommodations will need to be discussed with an Accessibility Facilitator.
  4. Your semester request will be reviewed by an accessibility facilitator. If the facilitator has questions about your request, they will ask for clarification via your official CBU email. Please monitor your email and respond to inquiries to avoid any delays in setting up your accommodations.
  5. When your accommodation request is approved, you will receive a notification, and an accommodation letter will be sent to your professors if needed.

If you have questions or would like to discuss a new accommodation, you can book an appointment online through Accommodate. To do this,

  1. Go to Accommodate and log in with your CBU email and password
  2. Click on Appointments to book your appointment with an accessibility facilitator.
  3. Choose an Accessibility Facilitator and you will see their availability.
  4. Pick a time that works for you.
  5. Select whether you wish to meet online (using MS Teams) or In-Person.
