As is tradition at CBU, elders from Unama’ki College will lead a smudging ceremony for new students to mark the beginning of this new chapter in their lives. Students are invited to join us at 11:30am for a Mi’kmaq Smudging Ceremony in the main courtyard (location #17 on our campus map).
Elders from Mi’kmaq communities will be on hand to welcome new students and perform a traditional smudge to prepare students for their studies. This is an important ritual to everyone at CBU and we can’t wait to share it with you!
