Transfer Checklist

Step by Step to Transfer to CBU

To ensure that your transfer credits are received with ample time to be advised and register for your courses, please ensure that you apply by the following dates:

  • July 31 for September (Fall) intake
  • October 31 for January (Winter) intake
  • March 31 for May (Spring) intake

Students who wish to be considered for transfer credit at CBU must first apply and be accepted by CBU.

On your application, make sure to choose ‘Yes’ to the question, ‘Are you applying for transfer credits?’ and list every institution you attended, even if it was only for a few credits. Transfer credits will only be awarded to successfully accepted students.

Students must provide course outlines/syllabi for all courses they wish to be considered for transfer credit. These documents should be obtained from your previous institution and can added to the Supplemental Documents section in the Future Student account or be sent by email to transfer_credits@cbu.ca.

Course outlines/syllabi should include the following information:

1.) Course name and course code (that matches the transcript provided)

2.) Outlines/syllabi should be from the year/semester the student took the course

3.) Methods of evaluation

4.) Method of instruction

5.) Credit hours (in-class hours)

6.) Lab component (if applicable)

When documents are not originally in English, the student must provide documents with notarized translations, in addition to the original documents. Please make sure that the grading method is listed on your official transcript; credit(s) and study hours per course should be clearly noted on the course description.

You will receive your results in your CBU Email Account 6-8 weeks after all documents are submitted.

Once you have been accepted to CBU and after you Accept Your Offer, you will get a CBU Email Account. This information will be sent to the personal email you used to apply. You’ll also learn how many transfer credits you have been approved for. After Accepting Your Offer and confirming your seat, you can review the accepted transfer credits in your CBU Email Account.

You can access the webmail server through the CBU website, or directly by visiting: https://outlook.office365.com/cbu.ca.

To formally accept your offer, Canadian students must pay a $300 non-refundable deposit. This deposit will be used towards your tuition and fees balance, and will confirm your seat at CBU. Once you have accepted your offer and confirmed your seat, you can be advised and register for courses.

After you Accept Your Offer and confirm your seat, you can review the accepted transfer credits in your CBU Email Account.
