The Department of Humanities in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at CBU invites applications for a tenure-track position in Global History at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will commence July 2022.

The geographical and temporal focus of this position is open and preference will be given to candidates with expertise in transnational and transregional approaches. Applicants who specialize in themes of race, environment, or gender will be highly ranked.
Teaching duties will include undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as appropriate introductory and core courses in the History program.
Candidates are required to have a PhD in History along with a well-defined research program as defined by conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and successful grant applications. Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level and a willingness to teach in closely related areas of study are a strong preference for this position.
The search committee seeks candidates who demonstrate flexibility and range in their secondary areas of teaching and are committed to innovative forms of pedagogy, including online delivery, and who may be able to contribute to undergraduate programming in other departments and schools.
The successful candidate will be required to participate fully in the collegial life of the university by accepting departmental administrative duties and participating on university-wide committees and governance bodies.
CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
