WORK STUDY WINTER 2023: Student Researcher, Academic Initiatives

Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use websites, academic calendars, and direct contacts (if necessary) to benchmark academic program characteristics with those of similar programs/units at other educational institutions.
  • Gather materials to inform the feasibility of potential university initiatives.
  • Write short reports on findings to be shared with university committees and/or the university’s academic leadership and attend meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist with ongoing quality assurance projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials for the graduate attributes.
  • Provide additional information gathering and office support, as needed.

Qualifications

Excellent search skills using Google and databases; strong attention to detail; good writing skills; strong communication skills, including in-person, through email, and on the telephone; organized and efficient worker, able to keep track of multiple projects and tasks; and experience with basic office software, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Preference will be given to upper-year students and those with experience conducting primary and secondary research.

Eligibility:  Students must be enrolled full time in order to be eligible for the Work Study Program.  Students may participate in one Work Study per term.
