WORK STUDY: Social Media Ambassador, Study Abroad Program

About the Job:

The Social Media Ambassador will assist in building and maintaining the Study Abroad Program’s social media presence through content planning and creation for the student audience on Instagram & TikTok and will also oversee incoming emails. The Social Media Ambassador will research, present and implement new methods of engaging students online and will be involved in creating content that fosters CBU’s spirit and brand.

Tasks/Duties:

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative, relevant ideas for multiple social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram & Tik Tok.
• Keep a pulse on campus activities and opportunities for social media.
• Complete assigned projects and take a hands-on role in creating content, such as writing captions, taking photos, and filming short videos.
• Uphold brand guidelines and be an ambassador for Cape Breton University.
• Oversee studyabroad@cbu.ca email account to bring relevant opportunities to the Study Abroad Specialist.
• Provide support to on campus/community events hosted by the Shannon School of Business or other departments at the University.
• Connect with past Study Abroad Exchange students to use their experience for content.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student
• Must be enrolled, full time, at Cape Breton University and in good academic standing
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a good working relationship with other ambassadors and university employees
• Good judgement skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must be familiar with all popular social media platforms
• Maintain professional behaviour and language while posting about or on university accounts
• Experienced in digital content creation, including taking pictures & videos and editing
• Involved with campus life and enthusiastic about CBU
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Have a strong worth ethic (dependable, organized, team player, willingness to learn)
