Work Study: Peer Success Coach Coordinator

Job Description:

CBU Student Affairs is seeking a program coordinator to help run CBU’s Peer Success Coach program, which supports new students in the transition to CBU. This opportunity enables the successful candidate to engage with their own university experience, improve their leadership and job-readiness skills, while positively contributing to other students’ experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Current, full-time undergraduate CBU student with a minimum of one academic year completed at CBU
  • A strong academic background and a commitment to academics.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the personal growth and development of both self and others.
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for CBU and helping others.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with first year students to aid in their transition to CBU and university study.
  • Provide general information and support to incoming students virtually and through email and social media.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to student volunteers in various forms including individual and group peer mentoring.
  • Be an academic and student experience role model for peers.
  • Participate in transition planning activities under the direction of Student Affairs academic success coaches.
  • Participate regular meetings with Peer Success Coaching team.
  • Plan and implement student focused, virtual-based events.
  • Support ongoing programming and events of CBU.
