Job Description
This position will support and assist the establishment of the new Community Student Research Connections program. This program places CBU student researchers with community groups and small businesses to help in their organization’s research needs. The work-study student will aid the ORGS team in outreach and recruiting of community partners. The student will assist with research to identify and connect with community organizations across Cape Breton that may be interested in participating in the new research program. Additionally, the student will assist with development of training modules for student researchers. The student will be supervised by Student Community Research Connections program placement officers as they work to launch this new project.
Duties:
  • Assist with outreach to community groups and small businesses to promote the program
  • Research and connect with new community groups or small businesses
  • Assist with development of training modules for students in the program
  • Assist in organizing and planning student placements
  • Administer exit survey to students and community groups
Qualifications:
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Good academic standing
  • Adaptability
