Data Analyst, RBC Ventures – Ampli (Winter 2022 Student)

Ampli is Canada’s newest cash back app, helping Canadians earn more on their everyday purchases, both online and in-store.  Are you passionate about using data to answer business questions? Then this role is for you.

What will you do?

  • Create and edit reports for the business (marketing, partnerships, product and executive)
  • Update tables using stored procedures
  • Assist with clean-up of the existing reports (recategorization, changes, deletion, etc).
  • Document existing reports
  • Assist in quality assurance testing of output from ML & NLP models.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • An ability to work independently and within a team
  • A willingness to learn and continually grow
  • Experience working with and manipulating data in Excel and SQL
  • Solid understanding and technical skills in data analytics methodologies
  • Experience in / an interest in learning advanced analytics methodologies and tools (Python, R, machine learning, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • University degree or courses in a quantitative field of study (e.g. mathematics, engineering, economics, statistics) to demonstrate ability for critical thinking & numerical analysis
  • A keen ability to tell stories with data
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in data visualization tools including Tableau
  • Experience with digital analytics tools including Google Analytics
