About the Role

The WCB is seeking a student to join their HR team for the summer months. We are looking for someone who has a passion to pursue a career in Human Resources and wants to work alongside other Human Resources Professionals to gain valuable work experience in the field of HR. The successful candidate will be responsible for reception duties, pre- screening applications for employment and internal job competitions, arranging interviews, coordinating the completion of all requirements for competition files, creating/preparing interview guides, administering questions to candidates in preparation for the interviews, drafting offer letters and other related correspondence, tracking all staffing activities and position changes, and other duties as assigned.

The successful Summer Student candidate must:

  • Have completed at least one year of a post-secondary program and be returning to school in the fall full-time (those contacted for an interview will be asked to provide confirmation of enrolment in a minimum of three courses for the Fall 2020 semester);
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Possess strong keyboarding skills and the ability to use computer software/applications and other office technology;
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy;
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $15.06
