About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Image Services, the Production Assistant supports the Video Production and Photography teams in the project management of all government communications initiatives produced by the Image Services division.

Primary Accountabilities

Projects include photography, video production, live multi-cam broadcasts, radio, and animation. The projects vary considerably in scope, cost, and timelines. Responsibilities include initial client contact, coordinating meetings, hiring suppliers, scheduling shoots, booking locations as well as production assistance for the in-house teams.

The Production Assistant facilitates communication and collaboration between the Image Services team, client departments and external suppliers. They are responsible for the successful budgeting and scheduling of all Photo and Video initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following mandatory qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma within the last three years, in a relevant field (Photography, Video and Film production, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or Project Management)
  • Above average organizational, consultation and client service skills
  • Above average communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactively applying equity and accessibility lenses in your work

Other experience beneficial to this position (assets):

  • Problem solving skills
  • A strong focus on client service delivery and relationship-building
  • An understanding of photography and video production
  • A passion for visual storytelling

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade:  PR 06  

Salary Range:  $1,936.88 –  Bi-Weekly
