Job Title: Network & IT Management and Cyber Security Student Intern
Location: In-person/remote/hybrid; Sydney, Nova Scotia
Term: 16 weeks (April – August 2023)
Hours per week: 35 (or equivalent)
Salary: Depending on experience ($18-21/hour)
Program of Study: Computer Science, IT Management and Cyber Security

Description:
The student intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Bulletproof team – a leading
IT organization and 2021 Microsoft’s global security partner – providing comprehensive IT services
for the Verschuren Centre.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to monitor, develop and work with employees for Cloud Management
• Experience with Firewall Service such as Fortinet FortiGate firewall
• Manage Backup Service
• Network/Server Management; patch management, performance management, capacity management,
troubleshooting, daily checks, event log alerting
• SharePoint Development, Administration, and Support for users
• User Support-all user endpoints, including desktops, laptops, and mobility clients including
connectivity issues, and Hardware and operating systems issues
• Deployment and support of standard business applications [Microsoft Office, browsers, email]
• Liaison with software vendors and service providers to assist in the resolution of all IT
related issues.
• Windows 10 OS patch management
• User Management; Office 365 User Management with privilege access (additions, removal,
attribute changes, permission changes)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection suite; removal, cleaning, formatting
of malware
• Install and troubleshooting hardware such as printers, other computer hardware
• Identify and improve processes and ultimately build a stronger cybersecurity aware culture

Qualifications:
• Candidates should be enrolled in post-secondary degree (IT, Computer Science or related field)
• Ability to work independently
• Quick thinker/problem solver

• Ability to provide customer-service to employees/clients of the Verschuren Centre
• Excellent computer, database, and spreadsheet software skills; proficient working in a
Microsoft Office environment.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong desire to learn and able to lead projects to implement insights that can result in
process efficiencies.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public; use discretion and maintain
confidentiality as well as perform other duties as required.

**This role is only open to students in a current Co-op education program, the Post Baccalaureate diplomas do not qualify as a Co-op education program.**
