We are currently seeking a Finance Student to join our Finance team based in our Halifax, NS office for the summer.

Type of Position:        Full Time, Contract – four (4) months

Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Payable function within the Firm as well as assisting in various tasks and projects within the Finance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coding and processing of vendor accounts payable invoices;
• Reconciling vendor statements;
• Reconciling charges for Firm VISA cards and unclaimed VISA charges;
• Processing ACH payments;
• Processing daily demand cheques;
• Monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger account;
• Support Finance department staff in reporting and variance analysis; and,
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

• Post-secondary student and/or recent graduate with related education and/or previous accounting experience in a computerized environment;
• Working knowledge of Excel and Word, or similar spreadsheet and database software.
• Strong math skills and an aptitude for working with numbers; and,
• Above average keyboarding skills in terms of speed and accuracy.
