TEACHING POSITIONS

L’nu Sipuk Kina’muokuom (LSK) School, Indian Brook

Closing Date: Feb. 6, 2022

Various Positions Available: Elementary and High School full-time positions and Substitute Teacher
positions.

Start Date: Various start dates (Immediately to starting Sept 2022)

Location: Indian Brook, Nova Scotia

Requirements: Proof of vaccines, Child Abuse Registry Check, Police Vulnerability Check and
NS Teacher’s License.

General Description:
Accountable for delivering the required curriculum as set forth by the Province and for providing teaching
strategies that respect the rights of students at LSK.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach diligently Nova Scotia’s curriculum outcomes that foster a positive and safe learning
environment aimed at helping students achieve learning outcomes.
• Participate in individual program planning and implement individual program plans for students with
special needs.
• Review regularly with students their learning expectations and progress.
• Maintain appropriate order and discipline and report to the Principal any incidents and concerns
regarding behaviour or learning issues.
• Keep accurate attendance records and report absences to Principal as prescribed by the regulations.
• Communicate regularly with parents in accordance with policy.

Qualifications:
• Provincial NS Teacher Certification/Licence. New graduates welcome.
• Must be willing to transition to on-line student learning when required.
• Interest in working with, and learning about, an Aboriginal education environment.
