Family Service is a non-profit Organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that delivers family systems programming across Nova Scotia

Location: Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia

Qualifications: Our Organization is seeking an individual with a bachelor of social work degree, who has experience working with children, youth and families in a school setting. This position is full time permanent beginning in April 2023. This position offers a competitive salary, benefit package, reimbursed NSCSW membership dues, and ongoing engagement in reflective practice.

Position Requirements: Reporting to the Director of Professional Services, the Schools Plus Outreach worker provides direct support to children, youth and families and will assist in navigating children, youth and families to services and resources in the community. The Community Outreach Worker will work collaboratively with other school and agency staff to ensure that the student and/or family have timely access to services and programs. Skills required for the position include, but are not limited to strong engagement skills, solution focused work, and an understanding of trauma and violence informed principles.

Persons considered for this position must have: membership in good standing with their professional regulatory association, a clear police background check, and a clear child abuse registry check, and a valid driver’s license.
