Work environment

Intent of the process

This process is intended to recruit candidates interested in careers in the federal government in a variety of domains related to business, project management, or government programs. These positions are integral to the Government of Canada’s ability to delivery essential services to the Canadian population.

Candidates may be called upon to fulfil positions such as Project Manager, Program Delivery Officer, Administrative Coordinator, Business Analyst, Public Health Officer, Facilitator, Communications/Correspondence Coordinator, or other similar positions. Roles may be related to planning, finance, grants and contributions, management, analysis, security, information management, human resources, or occupational health and safety to name a few.

EDUCATION
A diploma or degree obtained or that will be obtained by June 30, 2022 from a recognized post-secondary institution (i.e., community college, CÉGEP, or university education). Specific positions may require a particular specialization, level of education, or a certification. Proof of the required education will be sought at the time of appointment.

If you completed this education outside of Canada, proof of Canadian equivalency will be required at the time of appointment.

Degree equivalency

 

The following abilities are required for all positions and will be assessed:

• Sound judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations.
• Good problem-solving skills.

Following your application, you will be required to successfully write the Public service entrance exam (PSEE) which includes the Test of Reasoning (TOR) and the Test of Judgement (TOJ). REGARDING THE REQUIREMENT TO BE VACCINATED:

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
