The Programmer Analyst Student Co-op will be based remotely and will work with the Business Data Manager to implement solutions that support Irving Consumer Product’s data strategy. The successful candidate will be given increasingly challenging assignments to analyze business requirements and implement data-driven solutions. During the term, the Co-op Student will gain exciting experience with a variety of leading-edge technologies in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence. Irving Consumer Product’s Business Data team is the destination for collaborative, energetic and enthusiastic people excited about data, business intelligence, and innovative solutions. This is a temporary student position.

Job Requirements 

  • Education Required: Enrolled and in good academic standing in Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Information Systems, Industrial Engineering
  • Years of Experience Required: <2 years
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with data analysis and SQL databases
  • A passion for problem-solving using technology
  • A self-starter who can conceptualize, design, and develop solutions for a wide range of problems

 

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include: 

  • Hands on and practical experience with Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Azure platforms
  • Hands on and practical experience with Business Intelligence tools (Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure)
  • Hands on and practical experience researching and presenting your ideas ideas for the application of data analytics and business intelligence in a manufacturing facility
  • Hands on and practical experience with solution design and development of interactive reports and dashboards
  • Hands on and practical experience creating data models for business intelligence solutions
  • Hands on and practical experience with SQL, DAX, Power Query M, and REST APIs
