Job description

As the Laboratory Technologist student in Nanticoke, you will be assigned to one of the sections in the Nanticoke Quality Assurance Laboratory. The laboratory operates 24 hours per day/ 7 days per week with rotating shifts. Depending upon the area, you may be responsible to qualify and release manufactured products, support product development through testing analysis, support the refinery operations across Canada, or provide technical guidance to the Imperial Oil marketing organizations and industrial customer base.

  • Conducting laboratory testing in accordance with quality standards.
  • Qualifying and releasing manufactured products.
  • Conducting field testing and sampling.
  • Conducting analysis and interpretation of data in support of operations.
  • Supporting product development through testing analysis.
  • Managing specific areas of work and projects.
  • Documenting and communicating results
  • Developing operating/testing procedures based on industry standards

Qualifications

Academic:

  • Secondary School Diploma/Degree or equivalency is required
  • Currently studying in chemical engineering technology, environmental technology, science laboratory technology, or chemical laboratory technology diploma program
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

Other:

  • Valid driver license

 

Start date:  May, 2022

 

Work Term:  8, 12, 16 months
