The CBU IT Department under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer is a looking for a Research and Policy Analyst to join our team. The key objectives of this role will focus on researching new policies and revamping existing one. Specifically,
- Research and analyze standard IT policies across higher ed institutions within Canada and draft policies for CBU.
- Analyze CBU’s and comparable institutions software spending over the last 5 years to spot patterns and forecast future expenses based on growth and industry trends.
- Conduct a detailed investigation into cloud and on-premise server infrastructure, offering comprehensive guidelines for each, considering scalability, security and cost- effectiveness.
- Research prevalent IT policies in Canadian higher education institutions, distilling key elements and tailoring them to suit CBU’s specific requirements.
- Document policies in a format easily understood by all stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in CBU’s Business Analytics Post baccalaureate program.
- Prior experience in research, project and data management, software or business analytics.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Desire to problem solve and work with others to map out processes to pinpoint improvements
- Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
- Curiosity, drive for excellence and deep interest in technology
What you will gain:

- Exposure to various business areas and their respective responsibilities, processes, etc.
- Job shadowing opportunities and establishment of mentor relationships
- Successful application of business analyst tools, such as business process mapping, project charters, requirement gathering, etc.
- Training and experience in multiple industry technologies, including but not limited to: Tableau, Sharepoint, Clarity, and Azure DevOps.
