Position title: Communications and Marketing Coordinator

Start Date: September 8, 2020

End Date: December 19, 2020

Hours Per Week: 35 hours

Hourly Wage: $15 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

Work location: remotely/Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (Unit 5A – 800A Windmill Road, Dartmouth, NS) – should COVID-19 restrictions still be in place, this may be a largely remote work environment

Supervisor: Emily Boucher – Manager, Communications and Strategic Partnerships

Qualifications: college/university focus on Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Business Administration

Required competencies (please note job description below):
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will work directly with the Manager of Communications and Strategic Partnerships to help develop and implement communications and marketing strategies as it relates to Techsploration and its national expansion initiative – you will be helping us share our story with audiences and stakeholders! Your responsibilities will include: developing and managing digital/print content (including blog posts, feature stories, reports), social media content development/management, stakeholder and media relations support, designing/developing program marketing material (agendas, posters, presentations, etc.), and communications support at internal meetings and some of our events around the province (events will be hosted on a virtual platform).This internship supports an active business environment with numerous stakeholders and requires professionalism and dedication. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and effectively in a multi-tasking environment.

Work term outcomes: the student should achieve increased skill development in overall communications (social media, media relations, content development, design), an increased professional network that is broad and diverse, an increased understanding of a non-profit organizational structure, increased knowledge of working with diverse groups/stakeholders.
