Hourly wage: $18.00
Hours worked: 37.5 hours/week for a 16-week co-op term

Digital Nova Scotia is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to join our team. We’re searching for an exceptional writer who thrives on meeting new people, discovering new stories and finding engaging ways to tell them. You’ll be meeting with members of our digital community, developing content through digital platforms, and assisting with the marketing and communications needs of a growing organization. Written profiles, photography, video creation, and marketing material design are all on our wish list, so if you love creating content and are looking to build your portfolio – this position would be perfect for you!

What does the role look like?

  • Use creativity to develop new communications and marketing strategies
  • Support social media content creation and management
  • Copywriting for our newsletter, blog, website, and social channels
  • Write and edit profile features and stories to highlight our growing sector
  • Lead the development of reels and social content
  • Assist with promotional activities and communications campaigns
  • Support DNS’ digital presence, including our growing Job Portal
  • Research industry data and statistics
  • Assist with event planning and logistics

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Video creation and graphic design skills
  • Specifically, knowledge of and passion for the Nova Scotia tech community
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
