Social Media and Annual Giving Assistant

The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is seeking a Social Media and Annual Giving Assistant (Part-time, Term) for a 16-week contract position starting in September 2023.

The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is an integral part of health care in Cape Breton, ensuring that critical equipment and services are available to patients in need on our Island. As a registered not-for-profit since 1985, the Foundation has worked in partnership with the community to raise multi-millions to purchase priority equipment, fund facility upgrades, provide patient programming, and more.

The Foundation is currently undergoing its largest capital campaign to-date: The Cancer Care Here at Home Campaign, which aims to raise $10 million for cancer care in Cape Breton.

The Social Media and Annual Giving Assistant will assist the Manager of Marketing and Communications and the Annual Giving Officer with a range of projects and activities, including overseeing the Foundation’s official social media channels, and coordinating logistics for community fundraisers and events.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule daily social media content and engage with the Foundation’s community of followers.
  • Oversee event-day social media content (Radio Day, Pink at the Rink, other).
  • With support from the Manager of Marketing and Communications and Annual Giving Officer, coordinate the Festival of the Greens online silent auction website.
  • Contribute in a collaborative and productive manner to foundation-wide fundraising programs and initiatives including community and third-party fundraisers.
  • Represent the foundation at community events where appropriate.
  • Provide communication support to all community and third-party fundraisers and volunteers
  • Assist with daily office duties, administrative support and other related tasks as required

 

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary program in a related field (business, marketing, public relations, etcetera)
  • Experience working in marketing, communications and social media considered an asset
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit setting considered an asset
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Team player, willing to learn and adapt
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a complex environment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
